The Return of the King to Russia

I always wondered whether there would be heroes living today. As it was in the old stories. Like those knights who went to fight dragons. Long ago.

”Once upon a time” …

As a teenager I was impressed when I read the life story of Simon Wiesenthal. He did survive the death camps of the Nazis. Like those who survived the Gulag archipelago in Russia, during the reign of dictator Stalin (Russia).

But today – years after Magnitsky died inside Russia’s prisons – there is a new hero within Russia’s detention centers. Aleksej Navalny. He who uncovered the corruption of the mighty men of Putin has been jailed on charges of corruption. How cynical. It is the proven method of criminals to blame others for their own wrongdoings. We saw the same response pattern after flight MH17 was shot down by Russian paramilitaries in 2014. Killing within some seconds 298 humans … mostly Dutch citizens.

Navalny – No one will forget his name

Aleksej Navalny. Poisened by Russia’s secret services. Yet he survived. Thanks to many persons, like the pilots who decided to ground their plane after Navalny collapsed on board.

He met nearly his last breaths. But, like a modern Jesus Christ, he did rise from the death. It was not yet the time to descend into the grave.

Afterwards he could have chosen to stay inside the safehouses of Germany. But he decided not to bow to intimidation. Nor to dead threats. He vowed to return to Russia.

And he did. And was immediately arrested after arriving.

But there is one thing I know for sure. The days of Putin are numbered. Since 1999 he has extended his reign. Step after step. Every time an extra amount of four years. A power grab granted to him by the yes-men, who are sitting like Putin puppets in the parliament, the courts of ‘justice’, the police stations and the big (oil-) companies.

But be sure. The king has returned to Russia. The rightful heir to the throne.

The day will come that Navalny will be the new President of Russia.

Now that may seem unlikely.

But the tide is turning.

Time is already ticking away at Putin’s watch.

A new dawn breaks.

The winds of change are blowing.
